For all students enrolling on one of our Direct programmes these terms and conditions apply to all bookings.
Booking a date:-
Your place on a JARE ATP programme will only be confirmed when full payment of the course fee has been made either by credit/debit card or your cheque has been received by us. We will then send you a confirmation letter which we will send via Royal Mail post, an e-mail generated receipt will also be initially sent to you if you book online using our PayPal Credit/Debit Card system. Our main confirmation letter will give fuller details of the programme, timings and a short exercise to complete prior to your attendance.
Making your payment
Our programmes can be paid for online using our PayPal system, alternatively you can book over the telephone – with this latter method you can pay by Cheque if you prefer and send us full payment by post. If you book online you do not need a PayPal Account to complete your payment and you will not need to register with PayPal either, the onscreen instructions give full details – we are always available to talk you through the process on the telephone.
Entry requirements
Although education and our programmes do not need to meet airline & airport entry requirements we do want to ensure that where possible you can meet the strict minimum requirements regarding ID, health, fitness, education and residency requirements. Although it is the responsibility of each the student to ensure that they meet the requirements required by airline and airport employers we will never reject any student from attending their programme with us if they do not meet the requirements and we will advise each individual accordingly.
JARE ATP are Data Protected with the ISO and any personal information we hold regarding any student will be confidentially and securely held – we may ask for a suitable form of ID at the start of your programme as any airline or airport employer would ask for, driving licence/photo ID, Passport etc., will be suitable.
Training and Recruitment
Our expert training services are to help students to gain an understanding of airline & airport procedures, interview techniques and related matters and in no way can we guarantee any aviation employment on successful completion of a course.
We will at all times try and help students with their applications to airline and airport employers.
Aim of our programmes
We have over the last 30 years designed programmes to give all students an insight into the role of Cabin Crew, Ground and associated roles as well as the important selection and recruitment process.
We have always stated “Fail to prepare for your airline or airport interview and you prepare for failure” so whilst our programmes will always give students a greater advantage over direct applicants doing no preparation at all they do not qualify a student to work onboard aircraft, work at an airport or for a ground handler although all our programmes, unlike many other do track the UK National Occupational Standards at various levels for core competence. All airline & airport employers will always need to complete initial “ab intio” programme with a new aviation employer (and annual refresher/recurrent training with their chosen employer) and therefore our programmes are more akin to ADDING essential skills BEFORE applying for an aviation position and will always enhance a student’s CV’s and Application Form.
JARE ATP is a UK Government recognised Educational & Training Provider as well as an Accredited Centre for theNational Awarding Body – NCFE and also an Approved Centre for First Aid Training with First Aid Awards via NUCO Training.
Our Centre
We do not use any Third Party facilities and run our own Boeing B737 Trainer aircraft and Aviation Centre on part of the Aviation Park West Site at Bournemouth International Airport; we therefore rely on no other supplier so can always 100% guarantee our services and facilities.
All our facilities are NON SMOKING – we request that all students refrain from smoking BEFORE, DURING and AFTER their programme and until well away from the JARE ATP Centre.
Tutors
When you deal with JARE ATP you will be personally taught by the two Founding Directors and Trustees both with over 30 years experience each of aviation and teaching and the pioneers of preparation training for aviation positions in the UK and Worldwide – one a former Chief Stewardess and one a former Managing Director of a UK Airline and both University Educated with Cert.Ed. and other teaching qualifications.
Cancellation by You
Because our students generally book onto programmes either online or by phone (although students are welcome to call at our Centre by appointment to view our Centre and book at the same time) we are bound by the Distance Selling regulations and therefore all our students have a seven days “cooling off” period from the date of booking in which to cancel their programme without any penalty. The date of booking is the date on which full payment is received by us.
Any cancellation must be made in WRITING only and WITHIN the SEVEN DAY “Cooling Off” period, after this time students will not be eligible for a refund of their fees paid under any circumstances whatsoever; however we will always allow students to switch to another programme and/or date without penalty as long as we are given at least 30 days notice and a £50.00 switch fee.
This means that no changes can be made from 30 days prior to the start of any programme for which a student is booked, unless the student is changing or cancelling their booking within the above stated “cooling off” period. For the latter you must always send us back all the materials we sent you on your booking confirmation unused if you are seeking a refund otherwise there may be a deduction to make from any refund due.
There is no ‘cooling off’ period in the last SEVEN days before a programme for obvious reasons or when a programme has begun and days have been attended.
There are NO REFUNDS for non-attendance at any time including the Covid-19 Pandemic crisis – we regard the latter as a FORCE MAJEURE
For any students applying for a UK Short-term Study Visa this needs to be made well in advance of a programme, should an application be unsuccessful and/or outstanding we will require the full documents to consider any switch available, no refund will be considered; it is unlikely that a Short-term Study Visa would not be granted.
Coronavirus Covid – 19 – whilst the JARE ATP Centre remains open we will be completing all our programmes, if students cannot get to our Centre from the UK or Overseas then they should seek compensation from elsewhere and where appropriate.
However currently, with the Covid-19 pandemic we are able to transfer your course to a later date without charge – however with the uncertainty of the COVID-19 virus we currently do not know when a new date might be available in the future until the position becomes clearer with UK Government direction. We will not offer a refund due the Covid-19 Pandemic which we regard as Force Majeure.
Students should take all steps to obtain insurance to cover themselves at all times.
Cancellation by Us
In the very unlikely event of us having to cancel a programme (we have a minimum student number per programme to run a date) which a student has booked we will always give as much notice as possible of the cancellation and/or switch of dates where possible (usually 14 days where possible) using the same contact details as supplied by a student when booking. We will usually offer students our next programme date for the course type chosen.
If the cancellation is at short notice due to force majeure for example (Coronavirus/Covid-19 is an example if we need to close our Centre) we will not offer a refund but instead offer a switched programme date in the future.
Currently the Covid-19 Pandemic means that a Force Majeure has occured with the Government closing down all non-essential businesses which JARE ATP fall into – so there are NO REFUNDS for non-attendance at any time including the Covid-19 Pandemic crisis – we regard the latter as a FORCE MAJEURE
If you have made any travel and/or accommodation arrangements for your programme sadly we cannot help you or be held responsible for your options regarding these, however the letter we send you notifying you of a change of date should be enough to show other providers that your reasons to need to switch arrangements is genuine.
Switches
You may switch from one programme type to another, however there is a One Month (30 days) Notice Period required and a fee payable of £50.00 to enable this facility. You may also switch dates with 30 days notice and a fee payable of £50.00. Outside this Notice Period if you wish to switch either programme types or dates the full fee becomes payable.
If we switch your date for whatever reason (see previous heading for further details) and you accept this the same cancellation rights apply as if the booking was on the switched date.
Personal Details
We will always take personal information regarding students during the booking and ongoing process as is standard educational and aviation practice, as we are Data Protected with the ICO for personal information including Educational Purposes No: Z9289867 students can rested and assured that we will keep all your data securely kept and you may ask for this information at any time and we will not divulge it to any third party without your consent.
Accommodation and Travel
All students need to travel to our Centre by their own means and we will help with guidance regarding travel – because our Centre is at the heart of the Motorway, Rail, Bus/Coach and Airport system on the South Coast travel to our Centre is very simple indeed and we have a large car park for students to park in, the train station is only a few miles away at Bournemouth with a bus (B1) connecting service to Bournemouth International Airport and a stop close to our B737 Trainer & Aviation in Aviation Park West at the airport.
If taking a longer programme or you need overnight accommodation we do not provide this for you (and our course fees do not include any accommodation) but there are a range of local hotels close to our Centre at affordable rates and we have Special Rates available with some hotels in Bournemouth – most hotels are only a short distance from our Centre by car, taxi or bus – the nearest bus stop is 250 metres from our Centre.
Please be sure of your options with accommodation and/or travel arrangements to ensure that you have switch and/or cancellation rights in case circumstances change with your programme booking.
Programme Fees
We set of programme fees each year, once you have paid your fee there will be no increase, because we link our programmes to recognised vocational options we do not charge VAT on your fees; all our fees include all tuition, course workbooks and notes, unlimited tea, coffee and water during learning times and IFS snack lunch service each day and we also have a range of vending machine for other hot drinks, beverages, snacks and sweets etc.
Our fees also include the JARE ATP Completion Certificate, Aviation Lapel Badge and any photographs taken during the programme when you are involved if all students on the programme agree.
For successful students for the FAA/HSE Emergency First Aid at Work programme there is a small £10.00 cost for external certification payable at the end of the programme.
Code of Conduct
JARE ATP operates to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics at all times and we expect the same from our students and we expect all students to arrive at our centre on time and dress as if attending an Aviation Interview, this will then be assessed during your programme to help with future development, you will also be issued with your name badge which should be worn at all times.
Because of the nature of the aviation environment and well as for educational purpose it is vital that all students agree to abide by all JARE ATP verbal and written requests and guidelines throughout the programme, they will always be in the best interests of all students and for Health & Safety at all times. Before each programme students will have a Health & Safety briefing and will sign the programme Register which binds students to our Code of Conduct.
Because of the practical nature of our programmes we also ask each student to complete our Health Questionnaire to confirm that you are healthy and fit enough to complete the practical tasks during your course.
Equal Opportunities & Diversity
At JARE ATP we have a written and comprehensive statement regarding equal opportunities and equality which is also enshrined in our Core Values as follows:-
1. That we strive for excellence in everything we do at all times
2. That our students’ experience is at the heart of everything we do
3. Innovation and creativity together with enjoyment of learning are promoted
4. At all times we will ensure that we conduct ourselves with absolute integrity and respect for everyone
5. Every single individual in our organisation is valued and self esteem is promoted
We do not therefore discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, skin colour, sex, age, or sexual orientation; education is open to everyone at JARE ATP and although we do have minimum entry requirements we will always eek to help a potential student to book a programme of their choice. It should be remembered that aviation employer do set their own entry requirements and we always try and seek to match these to all potential student enquiring about booking a programme with us, we would not however automatically exclude a new student if they do not exactly match these requirements BUT they will need to be fully aware of them.
At all times we request that students treat one another (and JARE ATP) with mutual respect and to tolerant regardless of personal views or beliefs etc., and if any student does not abide by these ethics and/or discriminates against another student by any means or is involved in bullying of any kind then that student will be asked to leave the programme without any recourse to reimbursement of any kind whatsoever.
